In God We Should Trust!

image

The world tells us we need degree, money, and lots of expensive material things to be successful.  The world also says we need those things to feel secure, and to secure security for our protection.

What was Israel’s security? What was Moses security? What was Kind Davids security?

The answer is God. Our trust does not and should not be in our government, people, money or material things. Our trust needs to be in God always.

“We trust in the name of the Lord our God. “- Psalm 20:7

Let’s learn from King David when he was fleeing from King Saul, (This was before David became king) and when he was fleeing his son Absalom (this was after David was king). He prayed to God without ceasing, he trusted in God! Hey obeyed God!

So trust in the name of the Lord our God!

Fight Temptation, Endure It!

image

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it beingeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”- James 1:12,14-15 KJV

Lets look at verse 14 and 15 for a second here. It’s important to remember that when we are tempted, we are tempted because of our own lust and desires (v.14,15).

If we do not rebuke it right away and go to God in prayer about that temptation then as stated in v.15. That seed of temptation will grow and when that happens it brings forth sinĀ and sin brings forth death.

So lets endure temptation as stated in v. 12. But when satan tries to tempt us lets rebuke it in Jesus name . Now, if the temptation is strong then lets rebuke it, stop whatever we are doing or working on.

If you are at home go in a room alone close the door and seek God. Pray read His word, if you are in a car pull over grab your phone, and use the bible app to read his word and then pray. Etc

We can endure (which means to withstand) temptation if we fight against it. We can do that by going to God and seeking His help through His word and through prayer.

We must remember we are not alone. God is with us every second of everyday. He is with us 24/7

Habit or Motivation?

image

“Motivation is what gets you started; habit is what keeps you going.”-The Daily Walk Bible

Make it a habit to read, study, meditate and share God’s word. In order to learn it you have to read it and study it.

Read and study his word even if you don’t want to. You will be happy you decided to it read it once your done.  Make sure whatever you are reading in his word. Read it once just to read it then go back and read it again for understanding. Then go back again and read it again and meditate on it.

You will always make time to what is important to you rather its watching tv for a few minutes before bed or exercising. So if having a closer relationship with God is important to you, then you will ALWAYS make time to study his word and share it before the end of each day.

What Is More Important To You?

image

“What you possess in this world will go to someone else when you die, but what you are will be yours forever.”- Walk Thru The Bible Ministries

Knowing that what we have on earth will not go with us when we die, Why do many of us fall into the sin of greed and being materialistic? I would like to think that what and who we are is more important than the things that we have.

So I challenge you to look at yourself and do a self-check. Ask yourself what do you really value? God or money and/or material things? Sometimes people value other people more than God so examine yourself carefully.

I am not saying it is bad to have lots of material things or to even to want certain things. However, it becomes a sin when we value money and possessions more then we value  God.
