Your Thoughts Are Important

Our thoughts are important, so important that Satan uses them to insert his lies. He knows are mind is powerful and if he can get us to think lowly of ourselves, believe his lies and think impure things, he has us.

Proverbs 23:7 says ” For as he thinks within himself, so is he.” NKJV

So if you think you won’t get that job, your poor, your worthless that is what you become. What you think ultimately travels to your heart. Just like words are powerful so are your thoughts and you have to fight back with the word of God. God thinks so highly of you that he gave his only begotten son as a living sacrifice for you. Jesus DIED FOR YOU! He SUFFERED FOR YOU so you wouldn’t have to.

Romans 8:6 ” For the mind is set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace.” NKJV

When you think your worthless or other fleshly or undesirable things, have you noticed you that you don’t feel happy or joyful even when you hang out with your friends? That’s because when your mind is set to think on things that are not good or positive or noble it brings death and destruction.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, Brethren, whatever is true, whatever is Honorable, whatever is righ,  whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there  is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”

It’s important to meditate on Gods word daily, Pray without ceasing and be careful of what you watch and listen to. Ultimately what you watch and listen to you will dwell on. For an example If your listening to secular music a song about heartbreak and what that man did to you. You will dwell on, how can you be healed if you keep you mind on your heart break. What room do you lave for God to heal your heart? That’s why you should be careful of what you listen to and watch. You will dwell on the things that you give your attention to on a daily basis. when you dwell on God and his word it brings peace and life.

That doesn’t mean you won’t struggle or go through trials but it means God will be there, he will be your strength. Don’t take my word for it read the Bible for yourself, pray, and fast. Ask God to reveal it you.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Second Corinthians 12:9

Be Content & Happy With What You Have Been Blessed With!

“A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.” Psalm 37:16 KJV

The Lord blesses us all the time and I find many people, Christians including myself at times have found ways to complain about it. Why??

How can we expect God to bless us with more when we don’t appreciate what he has already given us??

Many turn around and look at what others have and they covet, they want what another Christian or unbeliever has. What God gives us who are saved is way better than what the wicked have no matter how little or how much God gives us.

Please be aware that many of those who call themselves christians are not saved and are not christians. Their life may seem like the follow Gods word but behind closed doors they aren’t. But God know our heart!

Don’t conform to this world! Don’t follow the way of people. Follow Gods law (the bible) and wait patiently on him. When we commit our way to unto the Lord we will be blessed, and love by Him.

“COMMIT THY WAY UNTO THE LORD, TRUST also IN HIM, and HE Shall Bring It To Pass”. Psalm 37:5 KJV

Commit your way to Him , delight in Him, rwat in Him and even if you suffer or go through pain he will be there for you always.

“DELIGHT THEYSELF also in THE LORD and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4 KJV

“REST IN THE LORD and WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HIM: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass”. Psalm 37:7 KJV

” WAIT ON THE LORD and KEEP HIS WAY, and He shall exalt thee to inherit the land…”. Psalm 37:34 KJV

Fight Temptation, Endure It!

image

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it beingeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”- James 1:12,14-15 KJV

Lets look at verse 14 and 15 for a second here. It’s important to remember that when we are tempted, we are tempted because of our own lust and desires (v.14,15).

If we do not rebuke it right away and go to God in prayer about that temptation then as stated in v.15. That seed of temptation will grow and when that happens it brings forth sinĀ and sin brings forth death.

So lets endure temptation as stated in v. 12. But when satan tries to tempt us lets rebuke it in Jesus name . Now, if the temptation is strong then lets rebuke it, stop whatever we are doing or working on.

If you are at home go in a room alone close the door and seek God. Pray read His word, if you are in a car pull over grab your phone, and use the bible app to read his word and then pray. Etc

We can endure (which means to withstand) temptation if we fight against it. We can do that by going to God and seeking His help through His word and through prayer.

We must remember we are not alone. God is with us every second of everyday. He is with us 24/7

Verse Of The Day

image

“But you, Lord are a shield around me, my glory, the one who lifts my head high.” – Psalms 3:3 NKJV

Always remember God is our shield, he protects us. Anyone who we may come across who wants to hurt us man or spiritual know God is a shield all around us.

This above verse was written when King David was fleeing from his son Absalom. Its important to see how he recognized that God was protecting him from his enemy which happened to be his son.

We too need to recognize that our God is our shield and protector. To get more context please read psalms 1 in its entirety and also read about King Davids reign starting in 2 Samuel

Who Are You Walking In Step With?

image

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked.”- Psalm 1:1

Today’s self-check focus is making sure you are walking in step with the right people. Examine yourself and ask yourself (are you walking in step with the righteous or the wicked?).

Many christians especially baby ones make the mistake of being in the world and of it. But the Lord says to be in the world and not of it.

We have to make sure we are not letting unbelievers and hypocrite christian influence us. We should be making sure we are influening them by loving them the way God loves us and them.

Also make sure you do not conform to this world. I noticed especially celebrities are claiming to be christians and are not living their life according to the bible. God says you will know them by their fruit. Your fruit is your life, if their life as well as their words are not moving in the ways of Gods word. Then you need to make sure you are not walking in step with them.

God Bless
