Quote Of The Day

image

“The degree of our spiritual vigor has much to do with how much time we spend in Gods word.” -The Daily Walk Bible

How much time are you spending in Gods word with no distractions?

Make a prayer room even if that prayer room is your closet or your bathroom. Spend alone undisturbed and undistracted time with the Lord and study his word and pray, pray, pray!

Do not just pray for youself and your desires but pray for God to use you to help someone else. Also pray for others, the sick, the homeless, those who are grieving, our nation, the world.

God Bless

Make Prayer Your Way of Life

image

“True prayer is a way of life, not just an emergency Detour. “- The Daily Walk Bible

“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resist the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:5-7 NKJV

Are You An Inactive Christian?

“The Devils number one tool is not an active sinner but an inactive Christian.”- Walk Thru The Bible Ministries

This is by far one of the best quotes I have come across. So my question to you is Are you an inactive Christian? I think it is important for all of us to think really deep about that question and look intently at our lives.

Gods word says “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you are disqualified.”-2  Corinthians 13:5

It is very important for us to do spiritual check ups, just like when we get physical checks up at the doctors office. We will truly begin to know whether we are inactive Christians or not. As we grow closer to Jesus the more our life should reflect that.

You can’t say I’m an active Christian but you don’t share Gods word, make disciples, and you faithfully listen to secular music and watch garbage tv shows/movies. I love to tell people when in doubt pray, read Gods word, spend time with God and think “what would Jesus do” or what would Jesus Say?

When we do those things we will get answer. I dislike when people try to say it’s okay to watch or listen to secular music and movies. I’m not doing those things just watching them. In what way is that biblical and do you really think Jesus would watch or listen to that. I think a lot of times we are Luke warm Christians and we just want to have God and the world too. As Gods word says we can’t serve two masters you will either hate the one and love the other.

So please study Gods word, pray about everything, pray without ceasing. Definitely give up the world and its temporary things (material things etc) serve the Lord wholeheartedly and faithfully no matter what. Your life is a witness to everyone if you preach one thing and do another you will cause someone to stumble. You may cause someone who is an unbeliever to not want to be a Christian if your telling them for an example to love your neighbor but your constantly cussing your neighbor out. (Somethings wrong with that picture right?)  I know we are not perfect by no means but we have Gods word and we have to stop intentionally sinning and start repenting and start living Gods way not ours.

How is your prayer life?

“We cannot expect to live defectively and pray effectively.”-Walk Thru The Bible

How is your prayer life?

During my personal bible study I use Your Daily Walk along with my scripture reading. ,y goal is to read the whole bible in one year. This devotional has is suppose to help you with that. It has 365 devotionals With an overviews, of the chapter for example today I’m on 1kings 17-19. It gives me an overview of the those chapter, a quote (the one above) etc..

I think we all should do a self-check and examine our prayer life. Are we asking  God to do things for other people like “God please help that little boy he looks hungry” or ” God that family just lost their son please comfort them and help them?  If so we need to study more the bible more. We are to live Gods word as well as speak it and share it right?? So why not pray God use me to comfort that family or use me to help that little boy in your name Jesus to help them know you Lord.

Elijah is said to be someone we should imitate because his prayer life was “one point”. In other words how he prayed, how often he prayed and when he prayed is what we should model. Pray when you feel tempted, pray when you feel sad pray instead of gossiping. Pray when your angry instead of yelling at the person who made you angry. Pray with out ceasing and watch God work. Pray about everything and complain about nothing and give thanks to the Lord for everything.

The Lamp Of The Body

One day Jasmine decided to take a forty day fast from watching violent, witchcraft and vampire type movies. During this fast she felt more at peace with herself and others and in a way closer to God. She realized that what she allowed her eyes to see effected her more than she ever realized. When she was watching those type of movies she often found herself in sin. Arguing, using fowl language, getting mad over silly stuff, being selfish and unforgiving, participating in meaningless conversations that did not lead others to Christ etc.

Jesus tells us in Luke 11:34-36 ” The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your whole body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light as when the bright light shinning of a lamp gives you light.” NKJV

I know there are people who will tell you and even swear that them watching reality tv. Shows, violent movies, witch craft and demonic movies does not affect them and they still faithfully follow God. I say follow what the bible says imitate Christ. He tells you in this verse plainly and clearly that what you see with your eyes will cause you to be full of light or full of darkness. I encourage you to study these verse for yourself pray about them and LET GOD LEAD YOU. Nothing good can come from watching movies that encourage the opposite of what God is! While you are studying these verses think about this ” What Would Jesus Do?”. Would Jesus watch those shows?

God Bless

What Does Your Life Reveal About Your heart?

” As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. ” – Proverbs 27: 19

Today’s  blog is short sweet and simple. Sorry I haven’t really blogged in a while but I am a college student. I’m going full-time in the summer which is a lot more work than the regular spring and fall semesters.

Anyway meditate on the above scripture from proverbs 27:19. I feel this verse is a great tool to use to asses yourself. Tell me what does your life say about your heart? Are you God focused or self focused? Remember what is in our hearts is what we do daily. (Proverbs 4:23)

” Above all else , Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” – Proverbs 4:23 NIV
