One day Jasmine decided to take a forty day fast from watching violent, witchcraft and vampire type movies. During this fast she felt more at peace with herself and others and in a way closer to God. She realized that what she allowed her eyes to see effected her more than she ever realized. When she was watching those type of movies she often found herself in sin. Arguing, using fowl language, getting mad over silly stuff, being selfish and unforgiving, participating in meaningless conversations that did not lead others to Christ etc.

Jesus tells us in Luke 11:34-36 ” The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your whole body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light as when the bright light shinning of a lamp gives you light.” NKJV

I know there are people who will tell you and even swear that them watching reality tv. Shows, violent movies, witch craft and demonic movies does not affect them and they still faithfully follow God. I say follow what the bible says imitate Christ. He tells you in this verse plainly and clearly that what you see with your eyes will cause you to be full of light or full of darkness. I encourage you to study these verse for yourself pray about them and LET GOD LEAD YOU. Nothing good can come from watching movies that encourage the opposite of what God is! While you are studying these verses think about this ” What Would Jesus Do?”. Would Jesus watch those shows?

God Bless
