Walking In Your Purpose

                                                                          Rocky Path

What does walking in your purpose mean you ask, it means obeying the will of God, and faithfully and wholeheartedly being obedient in whatever he tells you to do. The plans that God has for you to do is for you and only you, You have to walk the path he leads on you on and sure enough that path with be bumpy but as you keep your trust in him you will fulfill your purpose through God. Everyone in the world has a purpose because God created us with a plan in mind for what he wants us to do. Many of us get impatient with God and take it upon themselves to do what they want to do and claim that, that is what God wants them to do. Those people get frustrated a lot of times and confused and then they go and blame God for the things that go wrong. When it is actually their fault because God didn’t tell them to go that way or do that particular thing.

You have made that mistake and even I have made that mistake, along with lots of other people and we make that mistake because we get impatient with God and want things to happen right away. God does not work that way, we can’t boss him around or rush him. We have to wait on his timing because his timing is perfect and right on time always! John 15:5 says: “I am the vine; you are the branches, if you remain in me and I in you; you will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing.” I think this is a great verse for us all to remember,  Jesus is saying in this verse if we stay close to him we will be able to do anything through him but apart from him we will not be able to do a thing. So when walking in your purpose you have to make sure you are staying close to Jesus and obeying God no matter what.

Do not fret because you will lose friends and those who you have in your circle but God will always be there. But those who don’t walk this path with you are not there because they may be friends who are actually bringing you down versus building you up, they may be friends who don’t really believe that you can do what God has called you to do. However, God will send you friends and other people to have in your circle who will encourage you, uplift you, edify you and make sure you’re keeping on track with what God has called you to do. These are the types of people you want to surround yourself with anyway because having negative people, drama filed people in your close circle can cause you to become like them, like the saying goes you are what you hang around. At least I think that is they saying but I hope you get my point, Evaluate your circle and who you allow yourself to hang around and pray about it.

Now there are many Saints in the bible who followed and obeyed God no matter what and walked in their purpose that God had for them. A lot of them went through some suffering among other things but still kept their faith in God and did what he said, but there were some who fell away. I encourage you to not fall away but to keep on keeping on because God is always with you he will never forsake you. Job 3: 23-26: “why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedge in? for sighing has become my daily food; my groans pour out like water. What I feared has come upon me: what I dreaded has happened to me. I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.”

I’m sure you know the story of Job and I am using him as an example for someone who went through suffering, This is a someone who had everything and was blameless but he lost everything but God was with him the entire time. Yes, Job complained a lot through his suffering and trials but I feel our suffering does not mean that God doesn’t love us or loves us less.   We can’t put a limit on him or his love and because he loves us does not mean he will prevent all suffering from happening to us. Going through trials and some suffering is good because it test us, it tests our values, what we believe in and it can drive us back to the basics of faith. As it says in James 1:12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trail because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” So go and walk in your purpose do not fret, he is always with you, and always make sure you trust in God and wait patiently on him and he will lead you where ever he needs you to go.

  1. No problem. You can respond when you can :). For myself I don’t find any instruction given to the Body of Christ that God will speak to a Christian in a still small voice or place something on someone’s heart. I do think the Holy Spirit speaks to us through the written Word which we read because it’s stated He authored it, but I don’t find instruction stated to the Body of Christ that the Holy Spirit speaks to man directly through some form of revelation outside of Scripture.

    • God speaks to us through dreams, Matthew 1:20. This are about the birth of Jesus but God spoke to Joseph through a dream. Also if you know the story about Joseph who was sold by his brothers because they were jealous of him God also spoke to through dreams (Genesis 37: 1-50:26). Genesis 15:1 God came to Abram in a vision. Also if you would like Check with your pastor about if you go to church. I’m not sure what religion you are apart of but you can always ask them if you don’t want to take my word for it. Thanks for asking this question.
